Hiding a Cache (Part 2)

The Quick Snack

Alternately referred to as the ‘McCache’, the ‘drive and dache’, or even the ‘quickie’, this mostly micro is excellent for those of us who are all about numbers.

We can knock these back like we were popping Smarties. For some, who just happen to be six foot four with arms to match, it may even be possible do these drive-thru style and not have to leave the vehicle. Publish a handful of these simultaneously and voila, you have the makings of an FTF frenzy par excellence. A great snack for geocachers of varying interests and ability, this type of cache, usually classified as a traditional cache, is both easy to place and easy to find.

Remember though, when hiding your cache that not every geocacher is an elite athlete. Some are confined to a wheel chair. Some, more advanced in years, may prefer to do their geocaching on terra very firma, limiting their adventures to parking lots or paved pathways. That having been said, there are some things that could be considered for those of us less frantic about our caching. The container itself may be simple enough but there is much that can be done to add interest. Consider such factors as a beautiful location or point of interest, an unorthodox canister, a unique placement, limited hours of availability, or even the need for exceptional stealth. Any combination of these will enhance the challenge and add to the enjoyment of the hunt.
